Privacy Policy

Personal data are processed through the Leadinfo B.V. platform. Leadinfo places great importance on handling personal data with care. We therefore take care when processing and securing personal data.

Our processing operations meet the requirements of privacy legislation. Among other things, this means that:

  • we clearly state the purposes for which we process personal data.We do so in this privacy statement;
  • we only collect the personal data that are needed for legitimate purposes;
  • we first ask for your consent to the processing of your personal data in cases where your consent is required;
  • we take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and also require this of parties who process personal data on our instructions;
  • we respect your privacy rights, including your right to access, correct or delete data.

Leadinfo is (in part) the controller for the data processing and (in part) the processor for its customers. In this privacy statement, we explain the types of personal data we collect and use and the purposes for which we do so. We recommend that you read it carefully.

This privacy statement was last updated on 17 November 2022.

1. Leadinfo as the processor

Leadinfo offers its platform to its customers as a processor. This means that we only collect information if our customer has instructed us to obtain information about its website visitors. Our customer is then the controller of the personal data thus obtained.

Our customers’ responsibilities

Our customers are the controllers of the personal data obtained via our platform and, as such, they should inform data subjects of the source of their personal data. In addition, they must have a legal basis for this. We recommend that our customers take note of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) as well as other applicable laws and regulations, such as the ban on spam under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet)/ePrivacy Directive.

Cookies and browser/device fingerprinting

To find out what website visitors are interested in, our customers can choose to make recordings using cookies or browser/device fingerprinting. Our customers are themselves responsible for requesting consent for this.

2. Leadinfo as the controller for search techniques and its own database

We are the controller as regards compiling company profiles of visitors to our customers’ websites. We decide ourselves how to make these profiles as complete as possible and we have built our own database for this purpose, based on IP addresses. Our sources are, for the most part, publicly available databases which include company data and IP addresses. We focus on company profiles. These may include names, contact details and job titles of employees and directors. If we suspect that an IP address belongs to a consumer or other non-business visitor, we remove it and do not continue to build a profile from it. Nor do we attempt to show end users any data of self-employed workers.

We create these profiles based on our legitimate interest, which is the commercial interest we have in showing our customers the most complete company profiles possible. We only index publicly available information which has been published for commercial purposes. We only collect data that create added value for our customers. We do not collect sensitive or special personal data. Of course, we process these personal data using appropriate safeguards to reduce or eliminate privacy risks as much as possible. Feel free to contact us if you would like more information about the specific measures we have taken. Naturally, you can also contact us if you want to object to this processing of your personal data. To do so, click on the ‘opt-out’ button in the footer of our website, or contact us using the contact details at the bottom of this privacy and cookie statement. If you do object, we will delete your data and not collect them again.

3. Leadinfo as the controller for other purposes

We also process your personal data when you use our platform as a customer, or when you visit our website. We have set out the purposes of our processing below. If you have any questions or want to know more about which of your personal data Leadinfo processes, you can contact us using the contact details provided at the bottom of this privacy and cookie statement.

Trial period

If you would like to try out our services first, then you can create a free account and take advantage of the 14-day trial period. We will use your name and email address for this (performance of the agreement). At the end of the trial period, you can choose to purchase a licence or delete your account. If you do not make a choice, we will delete your account one year after the end of the trial period. If you decide to purchase a licence, we will retain your information until you cancel the service.

Purchasing a licence

If you liked our services during the trial period or if you simply want to use Leadinfo’s services, you can purchase a paid licence. In order to perform the agreement with you, we need your name and contact details as well as your payment and billing information. We will retain this information until you discontinue the service provision and for three years after that. We do keep some data for longer than this due to the statutory obligation to retain records for tax purposes.

Your account

As a Leadinfo customer, you have access to our platform. To access this platform, you must first create an account (performance of the agreement). We will process your name, email address, password and log-in data for this. Your account also allows you to provide access to other people, for example colleagues or your marketing partner. We need their name(s) and email address(es) for this. We will retain this information until you discontinue the service provision and for one month after that.

If you contact us via email, telephone or through social media or by using a contact form or in any other way, we will use your data to enable us to deal with your question, comment or complaint (performance of the agreement). We keep these data as long as we need them for this contact.

You can sign up for our digital newsletter. We send it to you only after you have given your consent for this. The newsletter contains tips and offers relating to our services. We use your personal data for this, until you unsubscribe: every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link.

Applying for a job

If you have responded to one of our job openings or submitted an open application, we will process your personal data in order to deal with your application as well as to prepare for the possible conclusion of an employment contract. We will use your salutation, name, contact and address details for this. We may also process your country and date of birth, your resume, cover letter, salary indication, availability and any references you might have.

If we do not take you on, we will retain your application details for up to four weeks after the position is filled. This will enable us to contact you if the position becomes vacant again within the probationary period. If we are unable to offer you a position at that time, we may – with your consent – retain your application details for another year. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending us an email. If you come to work for us, we will keep your application details in your personnel file for up to two years after you are hired.

The application process could include a social media and internet search. This is necessary for us to maintain our image when hiring new employees. We have a legitimate interest in doing this. We will search for your name on Google and various social media platforms, but obviously only to the extent that the profiles are public. We will not ask for access to screened profiles, nor will we make a connection request. We will discuss the results of this search with you. Should you have any objections to this, please let us know by email when you submit your application.
