Frequently Asked Questions
Leadinfo
How exactly does Leadinfo work, and who is it for?
Leadinfo identifies business visitors to your website using IP recognition. We match the visitor’s IP address with our extensive database and display the results in your account. This is fully GDPR-compliant.
In addition to IP recognition, we provide more data about the identified company from over 45 data sources. This allows us to give you up-to-date information on, among other things:
- pages visited on your website;
- relevant company information;
- financial information;
- contact details, including email addresses, LinkedIn profiles, and phone numbers.
Leadinfo works based on a tracking code that you implement on your website. You can easily do this yourself, or via a web developer. We’ll guide you through exactly what to do after you’ve created an account.
Leadinfo is suitable for any company, both within and outside the Netherlands, that operates in the B2B market.
What can you do with Leadinfo?
Leadinfo is a comprehensive lead generation tool that helps you recognise, identify, and follow up on business website visitors.
Recognise
We recognise business website visitors using IP recognition and match this with our own database. This way, you can see which companies are visiting your website, what pages they’re viewing, and who works there.
Identify
With Leadinfo, you get an overview of all contacts working at the selected company, including their role and contact details. Based on this data, you can decide who to approach with marketing or sales for your outreach campaigns.
What does Leadinfo cost?
How much time does it take to set up Leadinfo?
Within just a few minutes, you can have Leadinfo running on your website and start tracking which companies are visiting.
- Create an account – this takes about 2 minutes
- Install the tracker – depending on whether you can do this yourself or need someone to help, it takes around 5 minutes.
- As soon as the tracker is installed, visitor data will start coming in.
How accurate is the recognition, and what company details will I see?
Leadinfo uses its own IP matching database, containing over 220 million companies from more than 195 countries worldwide.
In addition, we draw on over 45 data sources to display company and contact details. This includes:
Data Points | |
---|---|
Company Identity | Company name, Chamber of Commerce number, logo |
Company Contact Details | Address, postcode, city, phone number, general email |
Company Size | Number of employees, financial information, and revenue data |
Industry & Activities | SBI/NAICS code, description of activities |
Online Profiles | Website, LinkedIn company page, Facebook/Twitter |
Contacts | Names, job titles, LinkedIn profiles of employees, email addresses, (mobile) phone numbers |
On-site Behaviour | Pages visited, time on page, number of visits, traffic source (Google, direct, social, referral) |
Does Leadinfo work without cookies, and is it GDPR-compliant?
Leadinfo is fully GDPR-compliant. We adhere to the seven key principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In addition, Leadinfo is ISO 27001 certified, which means we meet the highest standards for information security.
At Leadinfo, we offer a cookieless tracking option, meaning we do not place first-party cookies on your website to identify companies. Instead, we use the IP address of website visitors to match them with publicly available company data, allowing you to see which businesses are visiting your site.
Can I manage multiple websites, subdomains, and countries in one account?
Yes, this is possible. For each subdomain or website, you will need to install a separate tracking code. If you add the same email address as a user to these accounts, you can manage all websites from a single account.
Am I committed to anything if I start the 14-day trial?
No, the 14-day trial is completely obligation-free. After the trial, you can decide for yourself whether you want to take out a subscription.
Can I change my subscription?
Yes, you can easily upgrade or downgrade your subscription to match your company’s needs.
What happens if I exceed my lead limit?
When you reach your lead limit, Leadinfo will continue to collect leads. You can upgrade to a higher plan to keep working without restrictions.
How do I install the Leadinfo script via Google Tag Manager?
We have a standard integration with Google Tag Manager. As soon as you create an account and are ready to install the tracker, we provide you with a plug-and-play solution. Simply connect your Google Tag Manager account to Leadinfo, and we’ll set up the tracking script for you automatically within seconds.
Do you have a plugin for WordPress?

What’s the difference between Leadinfo and other lead generation tools?
Leadinfo is an all-in-one lead generation tool for recognising, identifying, and following up on business website visitors. The biggest differences between Leadinfo and similar lead generation tools are often found in the features, the quality of recognition, and the price tag.
To give you the best possible overview of how Leadinfo compares to similar lead generation tools, we’ve created dedicated comparison pages. You can view them here.
What’s the difference between Leadinfo and Google Analytics?
The main difference between Leadinfo and Google Analytics lies in their purpose, the way they measure data, and the type of information you get from them.
Leadinfo is a B2B lead generation tool. It identifies which companies visit your website and provides immediate company information (such as name, industry, location, number of employees, and contact details). The goal is to help you take direct follow-up actions and generate more revenue from your website visitors.
Google Analytics focuses on website statistics and user behaviour. It gives you insights into how many visitors you have, where they come from, which pages they view, and how long they stay. It is primarily an analytics tool, not a lead generation tool, and therefore does not show company or contact details.

In short: no. We’ve implemented several protective measures to ensure your account remains safe and active. These safeguards include dedicated server allocation, strategically positioned as close as possible to your current location. GDPR
Are you curious about the impact of GDRP on Leadinfo’s IP Tracking? Arnoud Engelfriet of ICTrecht compiled a list of answers for us.
Is the use of Leadinfo legal under the GDPR?
Yes, the use of Leadinfo is legal under the GDPR, which was introduced as a European privacy law on 25 May 2018.
Leadinfo matches the visitor’s IP address against a publicly available database of company data (such as the Chamber of Commerce). According to the GDPR, the IP address is considered private data, and there must be solid justification for its use. The justification is ‘own legitimate interest’, provided for in Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. This article states working with personal data is permitted if this serves a clear interest and privacy standards are maintained.
Marketing and analytics are considered legitimate interests, and Leadinfo only uses private data in a limited capacity. IP addresses are not saved, and only publicly accessible corporate data is shared with the users. This means that Leadinfo maintains privacy standards. As a Leadinfo user, you are obliged to state these facts in your company’s privacy statement, as well as the register of data processing operations.
Do clients have access to IP addresses?
No, Leadinfo clients do not have access to IP addresses. Naturally, they may be using their own software to check which IP addresses are visiting their website, but this information is not linked to Leadinfo.
Does Leadinfo use cookies?
The identification of company data is primarily based on the IP address of website visitors. In addition, the user can choose to enable cookies for the collection of analytics information.
These cookies allow you to gain insight into your visitors’ website usage. It is important to note that these cookies are not linked to any other information and are not shared with other parties. According to privacy and cookie laws, permission from the website visitor is required for the use of these cookies.
Should I explain my usage of Leadinfo in my cookie notification?
Do I have to ask visitors for their consent before using Leadinfo?
What are the risks of using Leadinfo without notifying my visitors?
How long are IP addresses stored?
Can I stop someone from receiving my company data through Leadinfo's software?
Can I contact visitors directly?
Am I allowed to use a visitor's info@ email address to establish contact?
Can I share data acquired from Leadinfo with third parties?
What should I mention on my site when I use Leadinfo?
GDPR requires companies to inform their visitors about what happens to their personal data. They must do so in a privacy statement. An explanation in the Terms and Conditions is not legally valid. You can choose how you would like to word this in your privacy statement. The following is a sample text that you could base your text on: To measure B2B use of our website, we use the Leadinfo solution based in Rotterdam. This service shows us company names and addresses based on the IP addresses of our visitors. The IP address is not stored after use.
